This morning i woke up to a beautiful and much needed rainstorm. The sky was dark and the trees were bending this way and that way. I let out a long yawn, wrapped my arms around my body and thought “Oh, what a good day it is to just stay inside………….and after a couple of minutes lazily thinking this thought, my eyes popped open as I sat up in bed and realized that because of the Covid-19, I stay inside every day, not just today.
Now, have you ever heard the motto “if you want a change in weather, wait a minute”.
The rain and wind moved on and into a different direction. Was I relieved! The Gardner is coming today! We are going to plant flowers all along my back fence. I don’t know why I say “we” when he does all he planting and I do all the admiring. Actually, Fernando thinks of himself as an expert in arranging the flowers. I dressed and met him although he wouldn’t allow me to come outside until he had placed all the colors together. He had red next to the pink, the pink next to the white and the purple just as a filler.
Luckily he only placed them rather than planted them because he must know some other customers like me. I had my own ideas. Then it started to drizzle again, so umbrella in hand, I excitedly pointed out this way and that and as he was shaking his head, he was moving around placing the pink next to the purple and the white next to the red and voila, we had a cacophony of color that suited the eye. My eye, at least.
We designed the front yard as a Cactus garden and it is still a work in progress (just as I am).
