It is almost a year since I started writing my blog, “Blogging through a year of cancer, impeachment, pandemic and the Inauguration.”  I would sit down and the words would flow through my fingers onto the Computer as I wrote about all these events as they were happening.  What a year we have lived through!  We have shared these events and have survived.  Hopefully, with grace and optimism.

Last week, I had my last infusion.  It took me about a week to feel like “myself” again, but now here I am.   I am scheduled, at the end of May, to have a PET test to make sure  all the tumors are gone. The following week I meet with the doctor who will analyze the results for me.  I have had six sessions of the infusion followed by a shot each time to make sure my white blood vessels are where they need to be.  And now I say “enough is enough”.  Let’s see what the doctor will say.

We are into President Joe Biden’s 100th day in office and he has accomplished a great deal during this time.  He kept his promise of having a million shots of the Covid vaccine into the arms of our citizens.  In fact, he exceeded that, as there were two million shots given during that time.  And he is working on other bills which will help the working men and women of our country and the infrastructure of our roads, bridges, rails, etc.  Again, members of the Republican party in Congress are declaring they they will not vote a single vote in favor of his efforts.  This is an amazing time in our lives to watch how things unwind in Washington.  People are comparing Biden to Presidents Johnson and Roosevelt; both had ambitious agendas to help our citizens which they accomplished.  As  I say, “stay tuned” it will be an interesting time to see what comes out of Washington.  Oh, and yes, the subject of Washington D. C. becoming our 51st state is again on the agenda.

I am not sure if this is my last blog for the month of May.  Or am I going to wait until the end of the month when I will have more to report on my condition.  And, who knows, what other fascinating news will come out of Washington?  You will be the first to know my decision to continue the blogs, put them into a book or if you feel they are complete.  Let me know your thoughts.  I value your opinions.
