Well, as you know, yesterday, November 3rd was election day. It’s good that it only comes once every four years as the stress of knowing who the winner is is heart stomping. This year, the contest is between Joseph Biden and the incumbent president Donald Trump. For the past several months we have listened to speeches, been contacted to contribute to the campaigns, heard the chatter of the TV anchors and read miles and miles of newsprint. Our senses have been inundated by all this information.
But this is a very unusual election year. Almost 100 million voters have sent in absentee ballots. I’m sure this is a record. Many of these ballots were sent this way because of our Pandemic. Covid-19 is still ravaging our population and people were afraid to be in close contact with other voters. We may not know who our President is for several more days. You can see between living with Covid-19 and waiting for the election results that this is a very stressful time for many people.
I watch the TV reporting to keep up to date with the changes hour by hour. It is like watching a horse race. Very exciting but am I going to tear up my ticket at the end of the race or am I going to the betting window to collect my winnings and open up a bottle of champagne to celebrate?
